Gavin Griffiths

Managing Director

Gavin started this journey on his own by forming Gavin Griffiths Recycling in 2009. He has more than 22 years’ experience in the waste management, recycling, transport and infrastructure industries, having worked on and managed many large scale construction, demolition, land clearance and land remediation projects throughout the UK.

Over the past 8 years Gavin has created a ‘Group’ of companies that all lend themselves to each other, offering clients a diverse range of services. Gavin holds a level 3 WAMITAB in waste and recycling, various plant operator certificates as well as a Class 1 LGV licence.

Gavin is Chairman of the All Wales Truck and Transport show. The show is run entirely by volunteers in their own time, and during its 11 years, it has managed to raise over £100,000 for charities across the country, including Wales Air Ambulance, Noah’s Ark, and Ty Hafan.

Andrew Wright

Business Development Manager

Andrew joined the Griffiths Group in 2010 to establish Griffiths Waste Management. Andrew has more than 15 years’ experience in the waste management and recycling industry having managed small and large scale projects within the private and public sectors locally.

Andrew takes care of the commercial operations on a day to day basis working closely with the sales and accounts teams and overlooks new and existing projects of all the group’s activities.

He holds a level 3 WAMITAB in waste management and recycling management and is currently training to achieve Level 4.

Jake Stephens

Operations Manager

Jake Joined Griffiths Group in 2012 as a Level 3 HGV Technician and welder. His role included repairing and maintaining the groups fleet of vehicles, trailers and plant equipment owned by Griffiths Group. During his time as a technician he completed his Class 1 LGV licence and various plant licenses, enabling him to gain vast experience on plant and recycling equipment, articulated low loaders, tippers, walking floors and skips. Jake is currently studying for his level 4 WAMITAB in waste management and recycling.

In March 2018 Jake accepted the opportunity to run operations, coordinating the day to day running of the group’s vehicles and staff. Responsible for the specialised and modern fleet. He works closely with customers, ensuring that collections and deliveries are met on time, both safely and in compliance within legislation.

Lee Hare

Business Development Manager

Lee joined the Griffiths Group in 2017, he has over 20 years’ experience in business development and management. Managing both small and large scale projects in both the public and private sectors and is currently taking the level 4 WAMITAB in waste and recycling management. Lee is responsible for all new and existing waste management/skip customer accounts, managing external partnerships. Due to his past experience, he also assists with monitoring, creating and reviewing new policies and procedures as well as brand protection and marketing.

Due to his tenacious attitude Lee dedicates some of his time sourcing land for our land remediation and development side of the business.

Talley (Eurwyn Jones)

Commercial Manager

Talley joined the Griffiths Group in September 2018. Having worked in the construction supplies industry for over 20 years . Talley has been involved in supplying material for key projects such as the LNG plant at the south hook refinery, Red Roses bypass and the Mynydd y gwair wind farm where 37 wind turbines have been erected.

Talley is responsible for managing new and existing business, supplying aggregates and soil, disposal/recycling from construction sites and land remediation projects.

He is currently training to achieve level 4 WAMITAB in waste and recycling management

Kate Griffiths

Logistics Controller

Kate joined the company in 2009 and has been an ever-important team member since, working her way up from accounts assistant, to accounts manager and now managing all aspects of the skip logistics department. Kate is a versatile, dedicated and customer focused member of staff that ‘gets the job done’ for our customers.

Kate is also capable of running the weighbridge operations and is often found in the thick of the action at our Materials Recycling Facility in Swansea, ensuring deliveries and collections of waste materials are of the quality expected.

Rhys Williams

Transport Manager

Rhys joined the group in January 2019 as Transport Manager of Gavin Griffiths Recycling and Griffiths Waste management, Rhys has brought with him a wealth of knowledge in the transport and logistics industry to our ever-growing transport department.

Previous to joining the group Rhys had run the transport divisions of two national logistic and construction companies and holds a level 3 international certificate of professional competence for road haulage.

He works closely with all the transport team to ensure the groups fleet always remains complaint and road worthy whilst also heading up our articulated vehicle division. He coordinates the day to day running of the groups walking floors, low loaders and bulkers whilst ensuring the customers’ needs are always met and a first-class service is always delivered.

Aled Davies

Group Financial Controller

Aled joined the Gavin Griffiths Group in February 2019 as Group Financial Controller. Bringing fifteen years of experience within Finance and Accountancy industry with the past twelve years spent working for leading Specialist Construction contractor in the UK market.

A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Aled will bring his knowledge and experience to Griffiths Group as it continues to offer a diverse range of services offered to current and future clients.

Nia Jones-Parfitt

Office Manager

Nia joined the Griffiths Group back in February of 2018.  Nia has over 20 years of Management experience of which she gained whilst working in retail. She has managed up to 180 staff members in her previous posts and has gained several qualifications in Management and HR along the way.

Nia has a Business and Management Honour degree and has also completed an IOSH training course whilst working for the Company.  Her strengths are her organisational skills and her people skills.  Nia Manages HR along with the day to day running of a very busy office.

Nia is an Ambassador for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales and has brought her enthusiasm for fund raising towards various charities with her to the Griffiths Group.

Phil Cox

Weighbridge Manager

Phil joined the company in 2010 operating the Swansea waste site weighbridge and became weighbridge manager in 2013. Phil plays a vital role in ensuring data is input accurately and efficiently, and takes care to make sure visitors to site do so safely. He is an expert when it comes to compiling data, as well as completing and submitting waste data returns. Also, he is very capable at routing the Groups’ waste collection vehicles when required.

Phil is also qualified to manage Duty of Care certificates/Waste Control Notes and ensures the companies activities are compliant with current legislation. Phil holds an NVQ WAMITAB level 3 diploma and certificate of competence.
