Gavin Griffiths Group Raises £7,350 for Liwsi Through Annual Charity Golf Day

Gavin Griffiths Group has raised an incredible £7,350 for two-year-old Liwsi, a Carmarthenshire child living with two extremely rare genetic conditions, through our second Annual Charity Golf Day.

The fundraising event, held at Machynys Peninsula Golf Club & Premier Spa in Llanelli, brought together customers, suppliers, partners and businesses from across south Wales for a day of golf, networking and, most importantly, fundraising.

The money raised will support the ‘Liwsi Our Brave Little Light’ appeal, helping to fund vital physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, intensive therapies and specialist equipment. These services will give Liwsi the best possible chance of developing greater independence and enjoying an improved quality of life.

A day of golf with a purpose

Hosted by Great Days Golf, the event saw teams take part in a Texas scramble, with plenty of opportunities to get competitive on the course.

Alongside the golf, participants could take part in a range of challenges and competitions, including nearest-the-pin and longest-drive contests. One of the most popular challenges saw golfers attempting to hit a ball into a Gavin Griffiths Group skip!

The day continued off the course with a charity auction, where guests had the opportunity to bid on generously donated prizes, before finishing with a question-and-answer session with former Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby player Jonathan “Fox” Davies.

Bringing businesses together for a great cause

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, including the event sponsors GAP Alternative Fuels, Recycling Plant & Machinery, Keltruck and Thompsons.

Their support, combined with the contributions from golfers, guests and businesses that donated auction prizes, helped us reach the fantastic £7,350 total.

For Gavin Griffiths Group, the Annual Charity Golf Day is an opportunity to bring the company’s wider business community together, but it is the fundraising that makes the event particularly special.

Everyone embraced the day and got involved, whether that was by entering the competitions, bidding in the auction or making a donation.”
