Gavin Griffiths Joins Road Haulage Association Council

Gavin Griffiths has been elected to the Road Haulage Association (RHA) Midlands, Western & Wales Regional Council. Gavin, who owns and operates the Gavin Griffiths Group of companies will represent Welsh members of the RHA for the next three years.

Gavin is well-placed to advocate for the interests of Welsh members thanks to his extensive experience in the sector. The Gavin Griffiths Group offers a wide range of services from waste management and muck-away through to vacuum excavation and skip hire. The company also has a washplant in Cwmgwilli that engages in the circular economy through its washed, recovered aggregates that can be re-used on building and infrastructure projects.

With a 50-strong fleet of vehicles ranging from articulated trucks, grab lorries, tippers, and skip lorries Gavin is immersed in the road haulage sector and his appointment to represent RHA’s Welsh members is testament to this.

On his appointment, Gavin comments: “It’s a real honour to have been elected the RHA Regional Council. I’m passionate about representing Welsh members and working with stakeholders to ensure our voices are heard on issues such as rising fuel costs, changes to legislation and sustainability.

“I’m looking forward to working with my fellow Council representatives from across the UK to share what we do in Wales and to learn from their experiences in other areas of the county.”
The Road Haulage Association has 8,500 members throughout the UK and is a trade association that supports people and businesses in the road transport industry. Now in its 80th year, the Association works with governments, policy makers and local authorities throughout the UK to offer a voice to its members.
Rhys Williams, Regional Operations Manager – Midlands, Western & Wales at the Road Haulage Association adds: “We are delighted to have Gavin joining the Midlands, Western & Wales Regional Council. Gavin will bring to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience from both the Welsh haulage and waste recycling sectors and strengthening our Welsh members presence on the Regional Council.”
